The Light That Answered Me by Jay Jeong un Yang

I created a song using Suno titled 'The Light That Answered Me', and it was made as a gift for Suga. The lyrics were inspired by the book 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho.

The artwork featured in the videos was created by me using ChatGPT.

Lyrics:

Verse 1
Yeah, I chased every flash in the light
Thought a crown meant I won every fight
Held the things that looked heavy with shine
But they never held me right

Every mirror had me hungry for praise
Every compliment just fed the haze
Loud applause like a temporary high
Then it vanished by the end of the day

Pre-Chorus
Shiny things taught me what not to keep
Fast burn, then the silence runs deep
Everything screaming “look at me”
Never stayed when I couldn’t speak

Chorus (melodic rap hook)
Gold isn’t always gold, I know
Brightest things be the ones that go cold
The quiet mattered more than the prize
More than glitter in front of my eyes
I gave up noise for a softer sound
For the hands that stayed when none were around
Gold isn’t always gold, it’s true
Real worth always sounded like you

Verse 2
Yeah, I kept what the crowd could see
Lost the parts that were real in me
Every trophy felt empty inside
When the cheers didn’t come with peace

They love you loud when the light’s on you
Disappear when the night fall through
But the voice that stayed in the dark
Was the one that actually knew

Pre-Chorus
Crowd too quick to forget your name
Claps burn out like a dying flame
But one soft voice never left
Even when I was drowning in shame

Chorus
Gold isn’t always gold, I see
All that shine never promised me peace
The quiet mattered more than the prize
Than the glow that was blinding my eyes
I chose slow over polished glow
Chose real over fake for show
Gold isn’t always gold, it’s clear
What is honest is what stays near

Bridge (spoken/melodic flow)
Maybe worth ain’t measured in light
Maybe truth grows best out of sight
Maybe love that don’t need to flex
Is the only thing that’s built right

Not every gem gotta shine on stage
Not every heart wanna live in a cage
Some things grow in the dark real slow
That’s the kind that don’t ever break

Final Chorus (bigger, cathartic)
Gold isn’t always gold, I know
The real value’s the things we grow
The quiet mattered more than the prize
More than dreams I used to idolize
I let false shine fall away
Just to keep what chose to stay
Gold isn’t always gold, it’s true
The richest thing I found was you

Outro
Yeah…
No crowns, no flash, no need to prove
Just real things, real hearts, real truth
Turns out the light I needed most
Was quietly guiding me all along
