Afterimage by Jay Jeong un Yang

I created a song using Suno titled 'Afterimage', and the lyrics were inspired by the movie 'Before Sunrise'.

The artwork featured in the videos was created by me using ChatGPT.

This is version 1.

This is version 2.

 This is version 3.

  Lyrics:

Verse 1
We met between two passing trains
With nowhere else to be
You spoke like every thought I had
Was finally spoken free
The city felt like it was listening
To every word we said
As if the dark had held its breath
So dawn could find us there

Pre-Chorus
The hours folded like a letter
Neither of us meant to send
We kept pretending time was endless
Just so it wouldn’t end

Chorus
We had only midnight
But it felt like a lifetime
Strangers with borrowed eternity
You’ll live in the version of me
I was with you so easily
Some people arrive like comets
Bright enough just to be seen
Gone before you know you loved them
But they change the air you breathe

Verse 2
We traced our lives in empty cups
And maps we never knew
You said you feared becoming someone
Who forgot how to feel true
I said I thought the world was louder
Than it needed to be
But with you, silence felt like music
Playing just for me

Pre-Chorus
We talked about the kind of future
We were never meant to share
Like trying on each other’s stories
Just to see how they’d feel there

Chorus
We had only midnight
But it felt like a lifetime
Strangers with borrowed eternity
You’ll live in the version of me
Who believed in possibility
Some people arrive like comets
Brilliant just enough to stay
In the afterimage of knowing
That some love can’t learn to stay

Bridge
Maybe it’s better that we never
Built a life we’d have to lose
Maybe that’s why it still feels sacred
Unbroken, undefined, un-used
Because nothing was ever promised
Nothing was ever owed
Just two souls walking side by side
Down one impossible road

Final Chorus
We had only midnight
But it felt like a lifetime
Held inside a moment’s grace
You’ll live in the quiet of me
Like the memory of a place
Some people arrive like comets
Not to stay, but to remind
That the heart can still be opened
Even for a night in time

Outro
Some stories don’t need endings.
Some names don’t need return.
Some nights are only given once…
And spend forever
where the heart still turns.
