The First Step Outside by Jay Jeong un Yang

I created a song using Suno titled 'The First Step Outside', and the lyrics were inspired by the book 'Hobbit' by J. R. R. Tolkien. It was made as a gift for Hong Issac.

The artwork featured in the videos was created by me using ChatGPT.

This is version 1.

 This is version 2.

 Lyrics:

Verse 1
The kettle sang the same old tune
The windows knew my name
The chair was shaped around my days
The fire always played the same
I counted peace in little things
A book, a loaf of bread
I never thought the world beyond
Was something I would tread

Pre-Chorus
Then came a sound I didn’t know
Soft knocking on the air
Like fate had learned my address
And decided to wait there

Chorus
I almost said no to the knocking
Almost stayed where I had been
But the road began where comfort ended
And something in me stepped within
I closed the door on who I was
With shaking hands, but steady feet
Because the life I’d never dreamed of
Was standing quietly in the street

Verse 2
The hills looked taller than my fear
The sky looked wider still
Every step felt like a question
Every breath an act of will
The world was louder than my kitchen
Colder than my careful plans
But every mile that tried to break me
Left new strength inside my hands

Pre-Chorus
I thought that courage came in thunder
Like a hero’s chosen flame
But maybe it arrives in whispers
Calling gently with your name

Chorus
I almost said no to the knocking
Almost turned back halfway through
But the road began where comfort ended
And every step was something new
I lost the map I used to trust
Lost the shape of who I’d been
But I found a wider version
Of the quiet life within

Bridge
Maybe I’m still afraid of darkness
Maybe I still miss the chair
But there are stars I never noticed
Because I never left the stair
Maybe home is not a building
Maybe it’s the way you grow
Maybe every door that frightens you
Is the one you’re meant to know

Final Chorus
I almost said no to the knocking
But I opened it instead
And the road began where comfort ended
With a trembling heart I led
I didn’t leave because I was fearless
I left because I couldn’t stay
The door that changed everything
Is the one I chose that day

Outro
The kettle’s song is far behind me
But I still carry its tune…
A reminder of the person
Who stepped out too soon
And became someone new.
