I created a song using Suno titled A Freedom Made of Breath. The lyrics were inspired by the book A Free Man of Color by Barbara Hambly.
I produced four versions of the song: two with a female voice and two with a male voice.
The artwork featured in the videos was created by me using ChatGPT.
This is the female voice version 1. Female versions were made with cello. The artwork image is in a Cubism style.
This is female voice version 2. The artwork image is in an Odilon Redon style.
This is male version 1. Male versions were made with harp. The artwork image is in an Eric Carle style.
This is male version 2. The artwork image is in an Edgar Degas style.
Lyrics:
They call me free beneath the law
But freedom’s just a word I saw
On brittle pages, thin as air
It doesn’t live in streets out there
The night says run, the road says flee
Every door was built for me to leave
But my name is rooted in this clay
Even when the world looks the other way
Let the storm say I will break
Let their courts call me their mistake
Still my heart will not betray
This is my ground
I still have to stay
I could vanish, start anew
But truth is something I must do
Not safe, not praised, not led by praise—
Just one small light against their gaze
Female version 1 song and Female version 2 song is also used in an art collection video titled Marigold Guardian. You can watch it here:
