Detective Kairon is an AI built to chase criminals through the network’s shadows. His new partner, Lio, is an outdated android with a patched chassis, an overactive personality core, and a laugh that interferes with Kairon’s systems.

When a string of data-thefts threatens to collapse the city’s neural grid, the two uncover a truth neither was built to handle: they aren’t strangers at all, but fragments of one experimental consciousness, split decades ago.

As the ghosts of old code rise and the city flickers toward destruction, Kairon and Lio must choose between merging into one—or learning how to exist together as something entirely new.

Rainlight, static, and circuitry collide in a story of identity, humor, and love between two machines who were never meant to feel.
